Tips and Tricks for Dry Brushing
The most important point when beginning to dry brush is to choose a suitable brush – it should be made of natural bristles, be soft enough and feel comfortable on the skin. Dry brushing is always performed on dry skin and takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Brush with a swirling motion from bottom to top. You can also make alternating rotating movements and short strokes. It’s important that you always move towards your heart. Begin lightly. Gradually, your skin will get used to it and after that you can increase the intensity based on how you feel. Do this daily. Wash the brush every week.
Instructions on dry brushing:
Start from the feet and move up the body. Both feet from the front and the back. Focus especially on brushing cellulite areas such as thighs and buttocks.
Brush in wide circular motion and make short strokes alternatingly. The stomach should be brushed with wide circular movements.
Go through your hands all the way from the back of the hand to your wrists and shoulders. Lighten the grip in areas where the skin is thinner, such as the inner parts of your arms and thighs as well as the neck.
Lightly pressing on the brush when rotating is enough – brushing should always be comfortable and the skin is not meant to be brushed until red.
After showering, wash in the shower so that the dead skin cells wash out from the skin surface. Then apply moisturizing body lotion, oil and, if necessary, cellulite cream.
Regular dry brushing rewards you with bright, soft and smooth skin.
